Force Pike
10,000 |
The force pike is a two-meter-long pole-arm weapon topped with a charged power tip. Weighing barely seven kilograms, it is light for its size, allowing someone with sufficient training to manipulate the weapon with stunning swiftness. As is typical of other vibro weapons, the force pike's power cell energizes an ultrasonic vibration generator and so produces a distinctive low hum when activated. Conductive circuits that line the pole's interior carry the ultrasonic charge to the power tip, which emits thousands of microscopic vibrations per second. This rapid motion allows the blade to slice effortlessly through stone, metal, and of course flesh and bone. The blade's vibrating action means that even a grazing attack can cause serious lacerations, dismemberment, and other grievous injuries. Even with the generator deactivated, the metal blade is extremely sharp.
A force pike also can be set to release a stun charge, which is delivered as soon as the power tip comes within four centimeters of the target. The painful shock charge is powerful enough to knock a full-grown Wookiee unconscious. The force pike's long pole is perfect for thrusting attacks, giving the weapon a considerably longer reach than standard vibroblades while allowing for precisely controlled sticks. This design also allows the wielder to apply his or her full physical strength to an attack. The pole's apun graphite composition strengthens the shaft while allowing it to flex and temporarily bend rather than break under extreme pressure.
Besides their noted use by the Emperor's Royal Guard, force pikes are often carried by honor guards and diplomatic corps troops as "ceremonial" (but nonetheless deadly) weapons. Force pikes are also quite effective for crowd control measures, allowing police officers and military troops to disperse bystanders quickly and round up demonstrators for detention and questioning.
Force pikes are useful weapons for boarding actions, since they allow attackers to slice throw bulkheads and air locks in a few seconds without having to resort to dangerously unpredictable explosive charges.

Double-Bladed Staff
15,000 |
This weapon could be comfortably wielded with one or both hands in combat. At first glance it looked like a simple long brown handle with crisscrossed carvings along the shaft and bronze-gold guards at both ends. In an instant, long razor-sharp silver-gray vibroblades were sprung from either end, either separately (which made it a spear) or together (what usually happened). The blades' cutting edges could face the same way or be rotated in opposite directions. Pointed tips at the ends enabled them to be thrust through anything, including living targets. The weapon as a whole - handle and blades - was strong enough to withstand multiple blows and slashes without breaking. In addition, the blades could be used to stop blaster bolts cold. It was usually worn on the hip, sometimes hidden in the robe or kept in a holster on the back.

Storm Commando Armor
30,000 |
Imperial Storm Commandos are black armored elite Special Forces whose missions usually entail the infiltration and sabotage of enemy troops and equipment. Their armor, which is a classified military secret, bears no insignia or other unit designations, since Storm Commandos prefer to operation in darkness. They are an elite and highly trained unit of Scout Troopers. They are the Emperor's answer to guerilla tactics. Their covert operations also include the extraction of captured Imperials and Rebel criminals, infiltration of Rebel bases, anti-Rebel operations, Base Delta Zero operations against "hard targets" and siege-breaking. Storm Commandos can be used for support purposes or to suppress insurrection on Imperial controlled planets.
Four months after the Battle of Yavin, the Emperor ordered the creation of a new elite trooper, these troopers were the result. The Emperor decided that a commando unit trained in guerilla (hit-and-fade) tactics could achieve spectacular results. These Commandos are experts in guerilla warfare and have a reputation for ferocity that few other units can hope to achieve. Storm Commandos are also used in boarding actions. They are on hand as support troops and infiltrators. If something specialized needs to be done, the various specialty teams can be used. Regulars are used for counter-boarding actions. Once a ship is boarded Storm Commandos will then split up into two details and move independently on the bridge and the propulsion module in a supporting attack. Colonel Crix Madine was placed in command of the first Storm Commandos by Grand Moff Tanniel.

Rad Trooper Armor
40,000 |
Radtroopers are little known arm of the Emperor's elite Stormtrooper divisions. Imperial Command long ago identified that high radiation zones required an elite unit, the Radtrooper was created. Their armor is distinctively silver and black, however, it is not well known. Sometimes Radtroopers are sent into areas that have been filled with radiation due to prior combat or natural conditions. In other circumstances, the Empire may flood the battle area with radiation. In either circumstance, often only those soldiers wearing spacesuits can survive. However, persons fighting in spacesuits are a distinct disadvantage. While spacesuits are bulky and hamper movement, the Radtrooper Armor is lightweight, which allows the trooper freer movement and the trooper's superior skills are usually just as decisive as the radiation.
The casualties that Radtroopers inflict on the enemy are invariably frighteningly high. The troopers use weapons such as force pikes and vibroblades (which are considered light weapons) for rapid assaults where mobility is a prime concern; heavier equipment is used whenever extra staying power is necessary or a comprehensive sweep of an objective is required. Radtroopers can stay active in the field for almost as long as regular Stormtroopers. While modern weapons are quite resistant to radiation, there are limits and all radiation zones above grade four cause continuous malfunctions in most energy weapons. Due to this, Radtroopers are equipped with blasters with high power ratings to partially offset the effects of these malfunctions.
When the weapons stop functioning, the troopers switch to melee combat, which other modern troops receive minimal training. This type of engagement further adds to the advantage of their heavier armor and their advantage in high radiation zones. Certain personnel serving with the Radtroopers' heavy assault forces are equipped with standard weapons, however, they are also given a quantity of explosives to accomplish the unit's objectives. Note that all Radtroopers are trained in the employment these explosives.

Coruscant Guard Armor
100,000 |
A Stormtrooper police corps found only on Coruscant and other core worlds (on Coruscant they are referred to as Coruscant Guard), these elite Stormtroopers rarely see military combat, instead used to enforce Imperial military code. They are seen most often in Imperial Center, the hub of the Imperial Capital, but can be found virtually anywhere in the Core Worlds. Imperial Guards have authority to enforce martial law anywhere, regardless of local legal status, and are routinely used for political as well as legal purposes. This corps of Stormtroopers wears distinct armor: red with an unusual helmet design, intended to make them noticeable and memorable.

Dark Trooper
500,000 |
As a veteran of the Clone Wars, Rom Mohc saw firsthand both the limitations and the advantages of battle droid infantry. When he rose to power as a general in the Imperial military, he masterminded the dark trooper project, which would result in an advanced battle droid meant to serve as a "Super Stormtrooper."
This ambitious project was developed in stages, as concept droids proved the feasibility of Mohc's designs. The Phase One dark trooper had an unfinished appearance, with an exposed metal skeleton cast of hardened prick, a durable alloy mined primarily from the Gromas moons. The trooper was a towering humanoid, armed with a razor-edged carving blade and arm-mounted blast shield. Its programming was primitive, and its drive to attack was relentless.
The Phase Two trooper was much more refined, bearing a gunmetal gray armored exterior reminiscent of Stormtrooper uniforms. Equipped with a repulsorlift pack and maneuvering jets, this massive automated soldier was extremely agile, and typically armed with a powerful plasma shell assault cannon and long-range explosive rockets.
The final and most powerful model was the Phase Three dark trooper. Only one was known to exist, in the personal employ of General Mohc. A towering goliath with broad armored shoulders, this dark trooper could operate independently or be used as an armored power suit. Connected to its massive arms was a deadly cluster of firing tubes which dispensed a seemingly endless supply of seeker rockets.
The dark troopers were first unleashed shortly after the Battle of Yavin, on the unsuspecting Alliance installation of Tak Base. The Empire launched the droids via hyperspace capsules, in a fashion similar to the distribution of deep space probe droids. The inhuman soldiers tore through all resistance, and devastated the Rebel outpost on the planet Talay. Investigating this disturbing new assault was Alliance mercenary Kyle Katarn. He uncovered the secret dark trooper project, and traced it back to its source, the immense production facility aboard the Arc Hammer, General Mohc's flagship. Katarn infiltrated the Arc Hammer and sabotaged the titanic vessel. The Emperor was so infuriated by the loss of the Arc Hammer, and the incredible investment in the dark trooper project, that all research into Stormtrooper battle droids ended with Mohc's death.

Imperial Sovereign Protector
950,000 |
The Imperial Sovereign Protectors are experts at armed and unarmed combat. Their armor is lightweight and elaborately ceremonial. They are armed with unique and exotic weapons. These figures are given the most important duty in the entire New Order and have an incredible responsibility. Sovereign Protectors are the highest order yet for the Royal Guard. One reason the Emperor created the Sovereign Protectors was that he thought limiting the aspirations of his followers was unwise. By setting nearly unattainable goals, he could keep his personnel under better control while they struggle to achieve those goals. And also by creating higher and higher circles of elite status, it motivates them all to push themselves constantly.
No other troops in the entire Galaxy is as highly trained or motivated. The training and testing procedure that each Sovereign Protector ensues is elaborate and time consuming. It may take years to qualify and the waiting list is quite large. Once the potential Protectors have exemplary achievements in the fields of stamina, strength, dexterity, pain endurance, mental acuity, reaction time, loyalty and intelligence then they are trained in the ways of the Dark Side of the Force. Senior Dark Side Adepts teach the Sovereign Protectors only in elementary skills, so that the must always be subservient.
Their unthinking loyalty is so rigid that it is said that they can't even perceive anything that might corrupt them from their service. Others say that would commit suicide if the Emperor gave the order. Although these rumors have yet to be proven correct. Those Sovereign Protectors who distinguish themselves with their unthinking loyalty are sometimes selected to become Dark Jedi themselves. However like other Royal Guard, the Protectors serve as the Emperor's personal body guards.
